
Curriculum Vitae—Edward Niam
Edward Niam is the founder of the Institute for Self Healing™, which provides training to help people of all ages improve their mental, physical and spiritual health through concepts found in Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Meditation, Shaolin Kung Fu and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Founder of Motivational Seminars International, which brings to the workplace a specially designed series of TaiQiGong™ and Meditation exercises to help people become happier, healthier and more focused and productive. Founded the Shan Sing School of Chinese Martial Arts and holds the rank of Black Sash. A Master of Shaolin Kung Fu and Traditional Chinese Medicine with extensive training in Acupuncture, Feng Shui, Qi Gong, Pa Qua Chang, Healing Touch and Meditation. He has been helping people utilize the secrets of alternative health and wellness therapies for over thirty years. Creator of Out of Danger™, a training program that provides people with the hands-on-skills needed to protect them in any situation.
Founded and was CEO of Corporate Solutions, Inc. and CSI Management Systems, Inc., which provided nationwide employment background screening and training and development to human resource professionals. Founded Niam Investigations, Inc., which specialized in combating white collar crime and successfully prosecuted the first industrial espionage case in the state of Ohio and one of five in the U.S. Served as Director of Investigations for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office where the main focus was the prosecution of criminal and civil fraud and public corruption. Authored numerous published articles regarding employment background screening which have appeared in national publications such as USA Today Magazine and Employment Management Today.
Received a BA in History/Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from The University of Akron. Graduated from the Summit County Sheriff’s Academy and completed the Special Weapons and Tactics Training (SWAT) in London Ohio. Served on the boards of the American Society for Industrial Security, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Children’s Ballet Theatre and the Silver Lake Country Club Celebrity Golf Classic - proceeds benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Served on the board of the Fitzgerald Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and the College of Business Administration Alumni Board at the University of Akron. Served as president of the Board of Trustees and was a faculty member of the Dance Institute at the University of Akron. Instructed in the Junior Achievement program in Summit County. Current instructor in the Akron Public School System’s “After School Program” working with at risk children from first through fifth grade.
